They are used for many purposes including Canada Pension Plan, bank releases, insurance claims, etc. If an agency does not accept this, it will be necessary to obtain certified copies of the death certificate. You can order them from your Funeral Director or directly from the Registrar of Vital Statistics in your area. There is a charge for each certified certificate.
